The Opposition has finally announced its shadow cabinet, with new, young Members of Parliament featuring prominently.
The new cabinet was today announced by the Leader of Opposition Nandala Mafabi at the FDC Headquarters.
MP Abdu Katuntu is the Shadow Attorney General while Tororo county MP Geofrey Ekanya will shadow the Finance Minister.
Beatrice Anywar now takes the Oil and Mineral Development portfolio while MP Ken Lukyamuzi replaces her as shadow Environment Minister.
Masaka Municipality MP Mathias Mpuuga is the shadow minister for Presidency while Medard Ssegona shadows the Justice and Constitutional Affairs minister.
Ibrahim Nganda is the shadow Lands and Physical Planning Minister replacing Hon. Nabilah Nagayi Sempala while Florence Ibbi has the Gender, Labor and Social Development docket.
DP’S Sebuliba Mutumba now shadows the works minister while Wamanga Wamai will watch over the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
Wafula Oguutu is the shadow Information Minister, Makindye West MP Hussein Kyanjo retains his internal affairs docket while Lulume Bayiga is now the shadow Health Minister.
Benson Obua has been appointed the ICT Shadow minister while Fungaroo Kaps Hassan takes on the Defense docket.
Kaginda Mugume is the new shadow Public Service Minister, Walliam Nzoghu the Bukonzho North MP is in charge of Housing and Urban Development while Kevin Zaka takes on the Tourism, Trade and Industry ministry.
Mukono Municipality MP Betty Namboze has been appointed shadow Local Government Minister, Steven Ochola the Special Regions Minister, Achile Christopher the shadow Youth and Sports Minister, while Otuke county MP Rev. Jacinto Ogwal is the Relief and Disaster Prepared Shadow Minister.
The new list has seen several members dropped including Kassiano Wadri from the position of Chief whip, Judith Akello from Deputy Chief Whip, Christine Bako and Nabilah Sempala.
The others who have been dropped include Alice Alaso, Hon. Matia Nsubuga and Hon. Eng. Patrick Amuriat, among others.
Several MPs who lost their Parliament seat in the February were also dropped from the shadow cabinet.
