Sembabule Police Uproots 3 acres of Marijuana

Police in Lugusulu, Sembabule district have uprooted marijuana planted on a 3 acre piece of land.

Denis Musinguzi the Sembabule District Police Commander says the marijuana was discovered in the middle of a maize plantation after getting a tip off from concerned residents.

Godfrey MpuIima the owner of the land where the uprooted marijuana was found says that he had rented out the land to some youth group to plant maize but he was surprised to get information that they were instead using it land to grow marijuana

Musinguzi says one person has already been arrested in connection with the alleged crime as the hunt for his accomplices continues.
