News coming in from the NRM Caucus in Entebbe indicates that former speaker Edward Sekandi has been approved for the position of the country’s Vice President.
Sekandi’s nomination has already been approved by the members.
Security minister Amama Mbabazi has been proposed for the position of Prime Minister.
Sources at the meeting say the names were proposed by President Museveni after which, members nominated and seconded them.
Sekandi replaces Gilbert Bukenya who was asked to resign this week.
Amama Mbabazi may on the other hand be asked to quit his position as NRM Secretary General.
The President is expected to name the rest of his cabinet soon.
