A team of five lawyers is to appear before parliament’s committee on rules and privileges on behalf of General David Sejusa.
General Sejusa is wanted before the committee to answer queries regarding his absconding from parliamentary duties after recent pronouncements by the Speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga that he was not granted leave.
The former coordinator of intelligence services has been out of the country since May this year after he made controversial statements alleging that there was an attempt to eliminate some army officials to pave way for a succession plan for the country’s leadership- an allegation that has been vehemently denied by the government.
Now his lead lawyer Joseph Luzige says Sejusa has mandated them to appear before the committee tomorrow and present his position.
He says they will raise a number of issues and irregularities the Speaker and the committee should take note of.
