A 24 year old security guard has been ordered to pay a fine of 200,000 shillings or be sentenced to 90 days in prison for theft.

George Orijuka a resident of Kigoowa Ntinda in Nakawa division has been convicted by City Hall Court grade one magistrate Moses Nabende after he pleaded guilty to stealing three bunches of matooke.

The magistrate gave him a lenient sentence on grounds that he is remorseful and that he did not waste court’s time and Government resources since he pleaded guilty to the offence.

Prosecution states that Orijuka and others still at large on October 1st 2017 at Kigoowa stole three bunches of Matooke valued at 150,000 shillings belonging to a one Justine Nakabugu.
