The Police in Aswa region have beefed up security near the Uganda –South Sudan boarder following misunderstanding between South Sudan Army officers and the police.
According to the Uganda Police, the SPLA officers from South Sudan entered Uganda complaining that a Chinese contractor who is constructing the Gulu- Kitgum road to Misingo in Madiope Sub County had illegally entered 7km into South Sudan.
Speaking to KFM, the Aswa region police spokesperson Jimmy Patrick Okema says that they have now written to the governor equatorial province to iron out these differences.
He explains that more police officers have now been deployed to grant protection to the contractor.
