Rights activists have demanded that police releases all the children of one of Kaweesi’s murder suspects.
This follows failure by police to release the children as had been promised last evening, leaving their mothers who had gone to Nagalama police station to receive them stranded and desperate.
Now speaking to KFM human rights lawyer Nicholas Opio has condemned the continued holding of the children asking that they be released and be granted security if need be.
He further accuses the police of conducting its business in a trial and error manner, a practice that should be stopped.
According to the police spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan, Emillian Kayima, the children were taken in to ensure their safety.
Meanwhile, three wives of Abdu Rashid Mbaziira, a suspected killer of police spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi have appealed to police to release their 12 twelve children who have been held incommunicado for close to two months.
By last evening police was still holding onto the twelve children, amid reports of plans to conduct a DNA test to ascertain their parentage.
The women including Aisha Ampiire and Fatumah Bint Salim are demanding the release of their children aged 2 to 20 years.
One of them they say, is epileptic and needs specialized treatment which he has been denied for long.
