A new opinion poll conducted by Research World International gives President Yoweri Museveni a wide margin to consolidate power if elections were held today.

The poll that covered 2320 respondents shows that 55% would vote President Museveni, 17% would vote former FDC leader Dr. Kiiza Besigye and 13% would vote former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi.

However, whereas President Museveni is in the lead, only 43% believe that he has fulfilled his promises while 26%believe he has failed.
