Fresh landslides and floods are to hit the Elgon region and Kasese.
This is according to the new metrological forecast from March to May.
The forecast predicts normal rains in areas surrounding Lake Victoria basin and normal rains in the western, eastern and Northern regions.
However the forecast predicted deficient rainfall in the Karamoja sub region calling on people in the region to preserve water.
The state minister for Environment Flavia Munaaba says proper measures such as proper drainage system, report on cracks and placing sand bags near river banks must be undertaken.
Meanwhile farmers in the areas likely to receive normal rains have been advised to start planting long maturing crops like millet at the beginning of the season and short maturing crops at the end of the season.
