admin | June 25, 2015

Former Vice President, Prof Gilbert Bukenya has announced that he has officially quit the National Resistance Movement.

Bukenya says he is now ready to form his own party named Party for National Union.

He was speaking to journalists after a meeting with opposition leaders in Ntinda, Kampala.

Bukenya says he has quit the NRM to be able to concentrate on his party activities and the campaign to change leadership in the country without any interference.

Bukenya fell out with president Museveni accusing him of deviating from the core values of the liberation struggle.
