A power blackout has this morning disrupted S.6 biology practical exam.
The Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education exams started this morning with Economics Paper One and Biology practicals.
However, it was not a good start for the candidates at Lords Mead Vocational College in Njeru town council where electricity went off as soon as the question papers were distributed.
The chief invigilator Prossy Kawuda says the exams were halted for some time until the school administration provided a generator to give sufficient lighting for the students.
At St. Noa Mwaggalie Secondary School, the head teacher Joseph Mukwaya said the question papers were delivered in time but the delayed start was attributed to the lengthy process of screening candidates. In Mbale, atleast five senior six candidates have failed to sit for their final exams due to illness.
All the five are students of Mbale secondary school.
The school headmaster Sam Kuloba confirmed that the students were unable to prepare and sit for examinations.
Early Last Month the ministry of Education issued a circular warning school heads against stopping candidates from siting exams without proper explanation.
