The police officers who managed the scene of crime after the death of city tycoon Eria Ssebunya also known as Kasiiwukira have been subjected to an inquiry by the police professional standards unit.
Kasiiwukira died on Friday morning after he was reportedly knocked by a speeding vehicle while he was jogging near his home in Muyenga.
Addressing the media today, the police spokesperson Fred Enanga said failure to cordon off the scene of crime and carrying the body on patrol pick up was unprofessional.
He says the officers washed away most of the critical evidence and need to explain themselves.
Enanga adds that they are to record statements from the deceased’s business associates and family members for possible clues to the cause of death.
Ssebunya was laid to rest this afternoon at his ancestral home in Nanziga in Mpigi district.
