With less than ten months to the next general elections, the police force is still grappling with a funding gap of Shs204 billion meant for election policing.
Appearing before parliament’s defence committee, Internal Affairs Minister Gen.Aronda Nyakairima said several activities are still in the pipe line to ensure proper policing of this national exercise.
He however says this funding gap is likely to disorganize the whole process.
Meanhile, the Uganda National Examinations Board too is crying foul. It has expressed concern over the inadequate budget provision for UPE, USE and UPOLET candidates for the next financial year.
Appearing before the education committee of parliament the deputy secretary Secondary exams Dan Odong said the above items remain among the unfunded priorities with a funding gap of Sh6.8 bn.
