The police have issued another terror alert.
This follows reports that the Somali Al Shabab terrorist group was planning to hit fuel tankers in transit, fuel depots and stations.
The Deputy Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango says the police and other security agencies have already identified fuel tanker stop overs and parking areas in Naluwerere, Mbiko, Lugazi, Nakawa and other places and have already deployed strategically.
He says officers from the Counter Terrorism unit will now escort all fuel tankers from Busia and Malaba borders in convoys.
He explains that Fuel deliveries in Kampala Metropolitan area shall be done under escort by Counter Terrorism Police and Kampala Metropolitan Police from 9:00pm to 6:00am and not during day.
