The Police in Bukedi sub region are looking for a Somali National who reportedly attempted to convince a student of Busitema University to assist him execute terror activities.
According to Police spokesperson Fred Enanga, the student whose identity is withheld claims to have been approached by one Abdul Karim asking him to help plant explosives at university promising him huge sums of money.
Enanga is optimistic that growing public vigilance will contribute dearly to the fight against terrorism in Uganda.
This comes barely two weeks after the Al-Qaeda linked Al-shabaab group threatened to launch an attack on an education facility along the Jinja- Kampala road.
In a separate development, Bukalasa Agriculture College has been closed for three weeks following a violent student demonstration.
According to the Savannah Region police spokesperson Lameck Kigozi, the students are protesting the constant power blackouts, and a Shs50,000 surcharge imposed for late registration.
Kigozi says the students closed the Kampala- Gulu high way for some time prompting the police to swing into action arresting eleven students currently held at Wobulenzi police station.
