Traffic police in Kampala are hoping to restore total sanity in the boda boda industry with in the next four month.
This follows a week-long police operation that has led to arrest of over 600 motorcycles, with 30 million shillings collected in penalties.
According to the Kampala metropolitan traffic police Commander Norman Musinga, violation of traffic laws has gradually reduced especially in regard to violation of traffic lights, though carrying of more than one passenger has persisted.
He says they are currently working with boda boda leaders to sensitize cyclist before carrying out operations.
