Allied Democratic Forces Commander Jamil Mukulu is to be charged with the murder of the Muslim clerics.
Preliminary report released recently by the police on the murder of Muslim clerics showed that 10 of them have been murdered in a period of four years, but all investigations pointed on ADF as the main actor.
Addressing the media at Nalufenya police station in Jinja where Mukulu has been paraded, the police Chief Gen. Kale Kaihura said that the five counts of murder he faces include the Muslim clerics murders and the Kicwamba incident in which 27 students were burnt to death in 1998.
He explained that police intelligence indicated that Mukuli had many homes in and outside Africa, but police is set to work with all these countries to enable effective gathering of more implicating information.
Meanwhile Mukulu is to stay at Nalufenya, until police forwards his case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Mukulu was arrested in Tanzania in April. He challenged his extradition in a Tanzania court, arguing that he would not get a fair hearing in Uganda. However, court dismissed his objection, ruling that there was no evidence to suggest he would not get a fair trial in Uganda.
