Police arrests MP Nabilah Nagayi,opposition locked up in meeting

The police have arrested Kampala Woman MP Nabila Sempala, taking her an unknown destination.

Nabilah was this morning arrested in Katwe, where she was mobilizing youths ahead of her rally in the same area, later this afternoon.

She first hid in one of the shops, from where the police pulled her and forced into her vehicle, before leading to an unknown destination.

Meanwhile, business in Katwe has come to standstill following the standoff with the police

Teargas was fired to disperse the supporters who had gathered around Nabilah and business is yet to return to normal.

One of the residents in the area said her child fainted after being fired with teargas.

Meanwhile,

Members of the opposition are locked up in a meeting at the Inter-Party Cooperation offices along Katonga road.

 Those attending the meeting include FDC leader Col. Kiiza Besigye, the Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, Ingrid Turinawe, the group’s coordinator Mathias Mpuga and several Members of Parliament.

Police deployment around the area remains very tight.
