The Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda has spoken out regarding the new ministerial appointments, dismissing claims of sectarianism and tribalism.
This followed claimed by the leader of opposition Wafula Ogutu and the shadow internal affairs Minister Muwanga Kivumbi that the appointments were not balanced.
They accused the president of considering more people from Western Uganda than other regions, with 20 out of the 30 cabinet Ministers hailing from there.
However the Prime Minister says that was is important is service delivery, expressing confidence that the appointed team will deliver.
Meanwhile Rugunda has given assurance that his predecessor Amama Mbabazi will soon receive his emoluments.
This follows concerns raised by Kyadondo East Mp Semujju Nganda who wanted to know if Mbabazi’s benefits had already been processed and handed to him.
Dr Rugunda has admitted that the process of working on benefits of such former leaders has been slow but government is working on expediting it.
