The education authorities in Bugiri District have arrested two parents for allegedly refusing their children to sit for Primary Leaving examination board exams.

The Bugiri District inspector of schools, Prescovia Biryeri said she ordered the arrest of the parents after realizing that their two children had not turned up for the final exam in one of the schools in the district.

She said the suspects are residents of Bugiri Western Division in Bugiri Municipality.

Biryeri said the suspects were arrested and handed over to the police for interrogations.

She adds their decision to stop children from sitting for P.L.E was interference to government programs in a Universal primary education school.
