The Pan African Parliament has paid glowing tribute to opposition chief whip in Parliament, Cecilia Ogwal.
The continental Parliament passed a motion recognizing the contribution of Ogwal, who is the outgoing leader of Uganda’s delegation.
The motion, moved by Sudan’s Prof. Awad Hag Ali Ahmad, described Ogwal as a committed member who stood as a voice of democracy and good governance.
Hon. Dikgang Phillip MAKGALEMELE from Botswana said he was inspired by her commitment to the development of Africa and wished her success as Opposition Whip.
The new Leader of Uganda’s delegation, Hon. Onyango Kakoba says Ogwal, despite being a member of the Opposition, always put Uganda first while on international assignments.
Ogwal was replaced Elijah Okupa who took oath on Monday this week.
