The Directorate of Public Prosecutions is set to recruit over 90 State Attorneys to be deployed across the country.
This is a move meant to reduce the case backlog in the courts of law.
Speaking at the Anti-Corruption Division Open Court Day held in Kololo, the deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Amos Ngoloobe said this is to be effected by the end of December.
Ngoloobe adds that the directorate’s conviction rate currently stands at 67% compared to the usual 55%.
He has also called for deployment of more judges to the Anti-Corruption Court which has only 11 currently.
This, he says is slowing the fight against graft given the increasing cases of corruption.
