The director of administration in Uganda police Hajji Moses Balimwoyo has authorized the transfer of 78 police officers, mainly commissioners and Assistant Superintendents of police to new areas of deployment.
Baliwomyo says that the transfers are aimed at enhancing service delivery to the people of Uganda.
Those transferred include senior commissioner of police Elly Womanya who moves from police headquarters to Interpol as deputy director.
Commissioner of police Isabirye Haruna becomes the commandant joint operations at the police headquarters.
Assistant commissioner of police Hillary Kulayigye moves from greater Bushenyi to Rwizi as regional police commissioner.
The deputy police spokesperson Polly Namaye says the transfers take immediate effect.
