Opposition political parties have expressed readiness to take part in the Omoro county parliamentary by-election.
The Electoral Commission has since set 26th May as the date for the by-election
The seat fell vacant following the death of the former Member of Parliament and Speaker of Parliament, Jacob Oulanyah.
According to the roadmap released by the electoral commission, the nomination of candidates will be conducted on 12th and 13th May at Omoro District Council Hall and campaign meetings for candidates to be held from 16th to 24th May 2022.
The FDC electoral commission chairperson, Toterebuka Bamwenda tells KFM that the party is yet to nominate a candidate for the post.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson of the Democratic Party Okoler Opio, says the process of identifying a suitable candidate is ongoing at the district executive committee of the party.
