Opposition queries the ongoing training of crime preventers

Opposition members of parliament have queried the ongoing training of crime preventers in the country.

Raising the matter on the floor of parliament, Masaka municipality Mp Mathius Mpuuga , Nabukenya Brenda and Wafula Ogutu said there are various militia trainings going on up country, which posing a threat to the country’s security.

They are further concerned that these youths being trained are dressed in Yellow T-shirts with President

Museveni’s portrait demanding for an explanation from the internal affairs minister Gen. Aronda Nyakairima.

They are now threatening to train similar groups for self – defence if a clear explanation is not given.

The government chief whip Ruth Nankabirwa promised that the internal affairs minister would come up with a report soon.
