Lawmakers from the opposition have this evening walked out of parliament in protest, over the manner in which their colleagues were arrested earlier today.
The lawmakers led by the Leader of Opposition, Winni Kiiza accuse the Speaker, Rebecca Kadaga for allegedly aiding oppression of legislators.
Twenty Five MPs have been suspended over alleged breach of parliamentary rules of procedure while three others including Lwemiyaga County MP Theodre Sekikubo, Mathias Mpuuga and Ibrahim Semujju of Masaka Municipality and Kiira Municipality have been arrested under unclear circumstances.
The House is now proceeding with only the ruling party, while considering a motion by Igara West MP to amend the Constitution.
