The opposition at parliament is set to hold a crisis meeting to resolve whether to continue with the boycott or calling it off.

On Tuesday last week, opposition MPs led by the leader of the opposition, Mathius Mpuuga, snubbed the plenary sitting and vowed not to return until their colleagues, Kawempe North’s Muhammad Ssegirinya and his Makindye West counterpart, Allan Ssewanyana are produced in court and released.

The Democratic Party Whip who is also Tochi county MP Peter Okot told the media that the leader of the opposition has summoned a meeting tomorrow to discuss the way forward.

He noted that the meeting will include party whips, shadow ministers.

He, however, stated that to a certain extent they have achieved their boycott since now they know where their colleagues are and can afford to be represented by lawyers.
