One person has died at Namugongo shrines, where thousands gathered for prayers in remembrance of the Uganda Martyrs today.
The deceased has been identified as Mubarak Mwanje from Iganga district.
According to the Police Commander Kampala Metropolitan Region Grace Turyagumanawe, the deceased was sick and on medication.
He is said to have died in the places of convenience.
Turyagunawe however says the ceremony was largely peaceful, with very low crime rate registered.
A total of 34 crimes was registered with the major cases involving attempts to issue counterfeit curreny notes.
There was also one accident reported, in which a cyclist knocked one of the pilgrims before speeding off.
Turyagumanawe says 27 suspects remain in police custody awaiting different charges.
