One Dead in a Mobile Money Robbery Gone Wrong

Armed robbers last night stormed mobile money agent and robbed one million shillings before shooting one person dead.

The incident happened near Teso Inn in Soroti municipality.

Police regional spokesperson for East Kyoga, Juma Hassan Nyenesays that 3 people who were reportedly dressed in long jackets went and attacked a mobile money agent identified as Martin Ariu at his work place and robbed Shs 1m and mobile phone.

They also discharged live bullet that hit one Geoffrey Eyamu who operates a barber saloon nearby who died at Soroti regional referral hospital.

Nyene said the body has been taken to the hospital mortuary waiting for a post mortem report adding that police has so far arrested 3 people in connection to the incident.
