Kampala Capital City Authority has ordered the closure of Old Kampala Senior Secondly School following a students’ strike in which some of them were shot and injured by police this morning.
The directive has been issued by the authority’s Director Education Juliet Namudu who has asked the students to go home for one week as the authorities address the issues which caused the strike.
The students were protesting a move to replace their head teacher Azida Ntegana Nsubuga.
Nsubuga, who has been at the school for two years, is to be replaced by James Muloni, the former head teacher of Nabumali high School.
However, opposed to the move, the students went on rampage destroying school furniture, windows and other properties. Three of the students have been seriously injured and taken to Kampala Muslim hospital for treatment.
