Uganda Cranes player and Hearts forward David Obua has apologized to the nation, his coach and team over his unbecoming conduct during the weekend game.
Obua threw a tantrum, pulling off his shirt and throwing it on the turf after being substituted during the Uganda Crane game against Guinea Bisau.
Speaking during the Uganda Sports Press Association General Assembly today, Obua regretted the incident and said he was frustrated after being substituted.
He has pledged to control his emotions better in future and said that day’s walk to the dressing room was the longest he ever took.
Obua was fronted by the Cranes Captain Ibrahim Sekajja, Deputy Captain Andy Mwesigwa and the goal keeper Denis Onyango.
Sekajja said the team has accepted the apology and appealed to the nation to forget the incident.
He said Obua has been there for the Uganda Cranes having featured in many games and appealed to the nation and the team to focus on upcoming games.
The Uganda Cranes Coach Bobby Williamson says Obua apologised to him earlier adding that he understood the frustration felt by the player.
The Uganda Cranes emerged victors having beat Guinea Biasau 2-0.
