NUP takes over Mityana municipality council

The Mityana district returning officer Steven Makubuya has today morning declared Faustin Mukambwe Lukonge as the elect  Mityana municipality mayor.

Mukambwe who is on National Unity platform ticket polled 14463 votes whereas his stiff competitor the incumbent mayor Esther Ndyanabo the NRM flag bearer managed to get 5616votes.

Mukambwe pledged to first work on Mityana municipality physical plan and sanitation of the town.

The returning officer declared him and urged him to go and serve the public.

Mityana municipality have elected 28 councilors and 24 of then are from NUP , 2 from DP , 1 from NRM and 1from FDC
