The Directorate of Immigrations and Citizenship Control registered an increase in the number of people issued with work permits for the financial year 2015/2016.
The directorate’s spokesperson Jacob Siminyu reveals that over 10,600 work permits were issued in 2015/16 compared to just 8,900 and 8,400 in 2013/14 and 2014/15 respectively.
He attributes the increase to a number of factors including the various construction projects in the energy and road sectors and the ever growing number of diplomats coming into the country.
