The Central Executive Committee of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) convenes today to endorse new members to the party’s top decision making organ.
CEC is expected to approve the appointment of the party’s new Secretary General, Kasule Lumumba, her deputy Richard Todwong, as well as the new treasurer, Rose Namayanja and her deputy, Dr. Kenneth Omona.
The quartet was appointed by President Yoweri Museveni in December, after the party amended its constitution, giving him powers to appoint members to the positions.
The committee will also approve five out of 10 personalities appointed by the President to sit on CEC.
Meanwhile, members of the National Executive Committee are also scheduled to sit on Thursday this week.
Opondo yesterday issued a statement notifying NRM member of the NEC meeting scheduled for Thursday January 8, at State House.
