By Ruth Anderah:

The Commercial Court has issued summons against the ruling NRM party to respond to claims that it has refused to pay a Sh 580 million debt for presidential posters and flyers used in the 2016 presidential campaigns.

Elite Graphics Printers Ltd contends that it was contracted in November 2015 to print over 4 million posters and flyers to be used for presidential campaigns at Shs1.3 billion.

However in February 2016, NRM only paid Shs800 million leaving a balance of Shs 580 million which it has failed to pay despite repeated demands.

The graphic company says it has suffered great loss for over a year now since the NRM candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni won the presidential race with the help of these posters and flyers.

Court has given NRM only 15 days within which to file it’s defense.
