NRM leaders back Museveni’s sole candidature
NRM leaders in Kampala have unanimously agreed to back president Museveni’s sole candidature in 2016.
This was during a consultative meeting at the central division offices this morning.
Division chairman Godfrey Nyakaana says president Museveni has achieved a lot for the country and does not deserve a contest.
Meanwhile NRM Kampala youth Chairman Steven Mukasa says the president has also taken care of the youths through the youth fund and should be rewarded.
NRM Mps meeting in Kyankwanzi proposed that the president is granted sole candidature in 2016 for the good of the party.
However this has met resistance from different areas and party leaders who say democracy should prevail.
