A section of NRM leaders is calling for an investigation into the sources of funding for the former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi’s presidential bid.

This follows reports that Mbabazi has already hired 500 lawyers to defend his arrested supporters on top of buying vehicles and motor bikes for his agents across the country.

The Chairperson NRM Youth League, Denis Namara says despite working in government and as the NRM Secretary General for over 30 years, Mbabazi cannot accumulate all this money since the party used to prohibit him from fundraising.

Namara says police must act promptly to find out who exactly is funding Mbabazi’s bid.
