Normalcy is slowly returning to Kasese district after Saturday’s bloodbath in the three districts of Western Uganda.
Kasese RDC Maj James Mwesigye says the situation is now calm after heavy security deployment overnight.
Residents are slowly returning to work. He however says in Kasese, no attacker was killed.
According to Mwesigye, the assailants that attacked Kasese are suspected ADF rebels.
However, the army maintains that there is no link between the ADF rebels and the assailants that attacked residents in Bundibugyo, Kasese, and Ntoroko on Saturday.
In Bundibugyo, the combined force of the police and military are still patrolling the town and villages as the death toll rises to over 90.
The police say 75 of the dead are the attackers, 11 civilians, 5 soldiers and 5 police officers.
