Nominations kick off for Entebbe Municipality Seat

Nominations for the Entebbe Municipality Parliamentary seat have kicked off, with at least 3 candidates expected today.

The seat fell vacant over the Court nullifed the election of the area MP Mohammed Kawuma over alleged irregularities.

The NRM’s Patience Mubangizi was the first to be nominated this morning at Katabi Demonstration School where the exercise is being conducted.

3other candidates are expected to be nominated today including Charles Kirumira an Independent, the Democratic Party’s Mohammed Kawuma and Judith Matovu who is also Independent.

The Electoral Commission Spokesperson Charles Ochora says the exercise ends tomorrow, urging all interested parties to participate.

Ochora says the candidates are only allowed to take 2 cars to the venue and no more than 10 supporters.
