Government has ruled out any explosives or harmful material in a letter bomb sent to the Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga.

This month, reports indicate that a letter bomb was mailed to Kadaga and exploded when one of her aides, Herman Kabogoza opened it.

Giving a statement at Parliament this afternoon, Internal affairs minister, James Baba says tests were conducted at the Gov’t Analytical Laboratories, which showed that the package did not contain any material of explosive nature or microbial agents used in terrorism.

Baba further reveals that a similar package was also sent to President Yoweri Museveni, and 7 other people including foreign Affairs minister Sam Kutesa, FDC’s Kiiza Besigye, UPC’s Olara Otunu, and city lord mayor Erias Lukwago.

The others are Vision Group’s Barbara Kaija, UBC’s Paul Kihika and one Christopher Werikhe.
