The Nation Media Group-Uganda (NMG-U) has rolled out the calendar for the 36th edition of the Seeds of Gold Farm Clinics with activities kicking off in Lira district, Northern Uganda.
Capacity building activities for farmers in Diary, Aquaculture, Rice, Soya bean and Cassava production will be held at Ngetta Zardi Institute in Lira in June 29th focusing on climate resistant seeds, disease control and sustainable land management.
Representing Suzan Nsibirwa, the NMG-U managing director, at the launch held in Namuwongo, Elizabeth Namaganda the head at marketing said the initiative is aimed at among other targets; linking farmers to stakeholder service provider in the agricultural industry stakeholders.
“ for us as nation media group we are glad and very happy that at least we are achieving the reason to why the farm clinic were formed, farm managers or owners of farm were giving us information based on what they wanted us to hear or what they have done,” Ms. Namaganda said.
The seeds of gold farm clinics have been conducted out across the country since 2012 and this year the initiative is themed, “Climate Smart Farming”.
They will also be rolled out at Buginyanya in Bulambuli and Kachwekano in Kabale districts on July 27th and September 28th 2024 respectively in an initiative co-sponsored by Bank of Uganda-ACF, Stanbic Bank, Jubilee Allianz general insurance and NARO among others.
