Buganda Road Court has sentenced a Nigeria national to 18months imprisonment for swindling money from people pretending he would get them air tickets.

Grade One Magistrate Mary Kisakye convicted Mark Nathaniel and ordered him to serve the said years, if he fails to pay a court fine of 3mshs.

However,Nathaniel failed to pay the fine and was taken to Luzira prison.
Court also ordered that Nathaniel should be deported upon completion of his sentence, as it was also found that he had no valid documents permitting him to be in the country.

Nathenile pleaded guilty to obtaining $800 by false pretence and confessed to having received the sum in question plus defrauding several other
Ugandans of their monies through selling to them forged air tickets.

Prosecution says that on April 5, 2015 at Nakasero in Kampala, Nathenile with intent to defraud, obtained $800 from one Elijah Kasirye falsely pretending that he would get him an air ticket to South Korea.
