Over 1,000 hectares have so far been restored in different government forest areas across the country.
This is an initiative by the National Forestry Authority and other partners that has seen forests like Mabira, Noove in Wakiso district, Navugu land Kooba in Mpigi districts reforested.
The NFA spokesperson Gilbert Kadilo says this is part of their enriching and restoration planting campaign.
He explains that most of these forests especially around Mabira police post had been encroached upon by traders and farmers.
Kadilo is however hopeful that this campaign will help restore the eco system.
