A woman who attempted to kill her sister in-law through an acid attack has been handed to 8 years in prison.
Jackie Nahabwe was earlier convicted by Buganda Road Court Chief Magistrate, Lillian Bucyana on charges of the attempted murder of one Harriet Nsimire.
Nahabwe accused Nsimire of hooking up women for her brother to whom she was already married.
Evidence adduced in court indicated that on 6th July 2007 while at William Street in Kampala.
Nahabwe conspired with one Shaban Byamukama, who went to the victim’s home and called her out and a hot substance was poured on her face.
Although she was rushed to Mulago hospital where she was treated and recovered, she remains with a disfigured face.
Byamukama admitted to the crime and was turned into a prosecution witness implicating Nahabwe.
