Members of the public have been cautioned against game meat sold along highways.
The executive director Uganda Wildlife Authority Dr Andrew Seguya says quite often the traders are selling baboons and calves disguised as game meet.
He cited areas like kafu along the Kampala Gulu Highway where he says a number of people have been arrested selling baboon meat.
He however says the authority is in the process of setting up a forensic lab that will test all the meat with those found to be selling game met to be prosecuted.
