Police officers have been challenged to look for alternative sources of income and stop lamenting over low salaries.
According to the police spokesperson Emilian Kayima much as promotions do take place within the force, in most cases these ranks do not create a big difference in the income earned.
Kayima adds that what is required for all the men in uniform is to ensure that they become more innovative and strike a balance between serving the force and private business.
According to Internal Affairs ministerial policy statement presented to parliament last week, the force will suffer a budget shortfall of over Shs 900 billion in core priority areas in the forthcoming financial year.
