Parliament has been challenged to strengthen its emergency response and evacuation plan in case of an emergency.
The challenge comes from Tororo County South MP Fredrick Angura days after two bombs went off in the heart of Kampala, one of them close to parliament.
Angura says when the incident happened, many legislators had no clear evacuation plan and were scattered in all directions, which was dangerous.
Tuesday’s explosions were the latest in a string of attacks in the East African country, which has tightened security and mounted an investigation into the bombings, with President Museveni vowing to defeat “the terrorists”.
