Members of the opposition are in attendance of the Wednesday plenary sitting of Parliament after about a month since they took the decision to boycott the sittings.
The opposition wing has lost the vote to have the sitting suspended for 15 minutes to allow the State Minister for Internal Affairs Gen. David Muhoozi to make his way to the chambers.
The motion for the suspension of the House sitting was moved by the Kira Municipality MP, Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda.
He had initially also asked the Speaker of Parliament Anita Among to amend the order paper to prioritize the statement which was number six on the list.
Among heeded the request but then Muhoozi was not yet in the house (by press time) prompting a continuation with other lined-up business.
The 3rd Deputy Prime Minister Rukia Isanga Nakadama informed the House that Muhoozi was attending an event at Kololo ceremonial grounds.
The expectation of the opposition MPs is that the statement will address the sequence of concerns on human rights, top on the list the disappearance of 18 opposition supporters.
