The Mukono Municipality Member of Parliament Betty Nambooze has undergone a Bone Marrow surgery.
The surgery involved moving of the bone marrow from her right hip to the left leg to build back the damaged part that exposed the cartilage that used to send spasms through the left side of her body and occasioning a painful leg.
According to an official from her office Elvis Kintu, the surgery has been done successfully by an Orthopedic Surgeon at India’s Manipal Spine Center in Bangalore.
He adds that doctors say for two weeks she will not be allowed to move and will be confined in her bed to help the bone marrow grow back so she is able to walk properly.
This is the second surgery Nambooze has undergone in less than two weeks. The first was on the spine.
