In a bid to strengthen maternal health services The government of Korea in partnership with UNICEF have donated an ambulance to nakapiripiriti district the first ambulance in the district.
The donation is part of the four year partnership between the government of Uganda, the Korean International cooperation agency(KOICA) and Unicef launched last year
The country director KOICA Ms Jun Youngsuk said the ambulance health situation in Nkapiripirit had been a big challeng in the district. However she says with this donation is a step towards improving the health facilities in the area. She also thanked leaders and people of nakapiripiriti district for the commitment towards the project.
The Nakapiripiriti district health officer welcomed the ambulance and pledged to make use of it by helping transport expectant mothers to health centers.
